At Svanehøj, we have achieved a record order intake in the first six months of 2021. And we see a significant rebound in the gas segment, especially gas as fuel. The green transition is clearly accelerating in the marine industry.

We notice with great satisfaction that Svanehøj is chosen over competitors due to our unparalleled patented solutions for optimal personnel safety and robustness. Our unique deepwell fuel pump design is clearly the best choice for shipowners who want to ensure trouble-free operations.

LNG is the stepping stone towards PtX
We strongly believe in liquefied gas as the future fuel for heavy transportation. This applies not least to the marine sector. Liquified natural gas (LPG and LNG) already carry the potential to almost eliminate NOX– and SOX particle emissions from ship operations and reduce CO2 emissions substantially. And the solutions are available today.

LNG is a subject of debate in the marine industry due to methane slip issues. We do, however, consider this a technical challenge. There are various ways to reduce methane released by LNG-fueled ships. And, looking into the future, LNG must be considered as a stepping stone towards liquified solar- and wind power, also known as Power-to-X.

Ammonia is emerging as one of the best hydrogen energy carriers and seemingly the best option for a long-term marine fuel solution. At Svanehøj we have been pumping ammonia for decades, and our patented deepwell fuel pump is fit for purpose. We are participating in the first projects on combustion engines with ammonia as a fuel.

Whether it’s LNG, LPG, or ammonia, Svanehøj is ready to support and supply the marine industry. When it comes to pumping extremely cold liquids in difficult applications, we are the experts. A Svanehøj pump is the safest and most robust solution – also if your fuel should be heavily corrosive, polluted with particles or dangerous to people.
