Empowering cleaner energy access in East Africa
Svanehøj is part of a transformative energy project in Eastern Africa: the Mombasa LPG Terminal in Kenya, a new strategic infrastructure project designed to strengthen the LPG supply chain in Kenya and the neighboring countries.
The new LPG terminal is being developed by CIMC Hontu (Jingmen) Project, a subsidiary of CIMC ENRIC. It’s a project involving the construction of 12 LPG tanks and supporting facilities, with a total storage capacity of 66,900 m³. The facility is expected to provide a stable gas supply to Kenya and neighboring countries.
Svanehøj will deliver a full safety package for this landmark project, including:
- 12 hydraulic Emergency Shut Off Valves
- 12 Line Housings
- 3 Hydraulic Control Panels for safe operation
Together, these critical components will help ensure the safe and reliable storage and handling of LPG, protecting both people and the environment.
Today, hundreds of millions of people in Africa rely on firewood, charcoal, or agricultural waste for cooking. This widespread reliance on biomass results in severe health and environmental problems. We’re proud that our technology is playing a key role in advancing clean energy access, distribution efficiency, and economic opportunity in East Africa.
