At Karrieredagene (Career Days) in March in Aalborg, many students stopped by our stand to explore career paths at Svanehoj. One of the colleagues they met was Benjamin Damsgaard, whose story reflects the opportunities we aim to offer young talent.

Benjamin joined Svanehoj as a student worker while completing his master’s degree, working on tasks closely related to his field of study and gaining hands-on experience early on.

After graduating two and a half years ago, he was offered a full-time role as a supply chain analyst. Shortly after, organizational developments and increased integration needs created new opportunities, and Benjamin transitioned into IT, where he now works as IT Business Partner across the Svanehoj Group.

Supporting decision-making at the group level

In his current role, Benjamin operates at the intersection of business and IT, helping to bridge local needs with global solutions. He works across departments, systems, and functions, supporting both strategic alignment and the practical implementation of IT initiatives.

One example is a data initiative he helped initiate together with a colleague. What started as an idea has since developed into a broader project in which data from multiple systems across the company is collected and structured into a unified format. This enables consistent financial and operational insights across different entities, supporting decision-making at the group level.

- At Svanehoj, there is strong support for new ideas. If you see an opportunity to improve something, you are encouraged to take initiative and collaborate across departments. This cross-functional collaboration is a natural part of how work is done at Svanehoj. Projects often involve multiple disciplines where employees are encouraged to take ownership and drive development, Benjamin explains.
