The future looks bright in Calais

An untapped potential of technical know-how: Meet Fabrice Vandewalle, Sales Manager for LNG solutions at Svanehøj Tank Control Systems in Calais, France.

The acquisition of Wärtsilä Tank Control Systems in early 2022 has created a new business unit in Svanehøj Group. Svanehøj Tank Control Systems provides safety solutions within LNG and LPG measurement and storage.

One of those to establish the new, independent business unit is Fabrice Vandewalle, who is the sales manager for LNG tanks and measurement systems at Svanehøj Tank Control Systems. Fabrice worked at Wärtsilä for 14 years before joining Svanehøj as part of the acquisition earlier this year. Fabrice is very pleased with his new Svanehøj colleagues and the level of ambitions following the change of ownership.

- I feel that Svanehøj, as the new owner, is keen to develop our business and sees substantial potential in the market. We have a strong team with technical know-how, and I believe we now can achieve our untapped potential, says Fabrice Vandewalle.

A lot of travelling

Svanehøj’s instrumentation and safety systems for LNG tanks are installed to ensure that all hazardous aspects related to the storage of liquified gas are known and controllable. It includes densitometers, servo level gauges and temperature measurements, and hardware and software for data acquisition and rollover prediction.

As a sales manager in this field of work, it is essential to establish a dialogue about the customer's needs from an early stage in the project.

- I am travelling a lot to visit the EPC contractors and the FEED (Frontend Engineering Design) to make sure that Svanehøj is well registered as a tank gauging systems supplier. It is an important part of the process to have our equipment and technical specifications included in the tender documents, says Fabrice Vandewalle.

Future looking bright

The newly established department of the company is already on the right track. Order intake is growing, and motivation within the department is at its highest. Therefore, the future looks bright at Svanehøj Tank Control Systems.

- We are surfing on a good wave. We have been well integrated into a company, which has ambitious plans for us. It creates a heightened motivation throughout our department. I see that everyone is involved in this new challenge and wants to be a part of this journey, says Fabrice Vandewalle.
