50% reduction in 2025: Svanehøj set target for Scope 1 & 2 emissions

In Svanehøj, we contribute to a greener world by providing future-proof pump solutions, tank control solutions, applications, and services that help accelerate the energy transition in the hard-to-abate sectors.

But while we help our customers reduce emissions, we, as a company, must also reduce our impact on the environment and become an inspiration for others to follow.

As a part of our ESG strategy, we have committed ourselves to reducing our GHG emissions in Scope 1 (direct emissions) and Scope 2 (indirect energy-related emissions) by 50% in 2025 per revenue in MDKK relative to our baseline year 2021*.

Work is in progress, and results are already starting to show! In 2022 we reduced our Scope 1+2 emissions per million DKK by 27.2%. The main reason is increased productivity. We have invested significantly in lean and automation at our factory in Denmark, thereby reducing the lead time for all products. In 2023 we expect to reduce our emissions further. We are currently working on a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), which will increase the availability of renewable electricity on the Danish grid equivalent to a specific share of the electricity consumption in Svanehøj. In this way, we support the construction of new renewable energy facilities in Denmark.

While we have set targets for our relative emissions, we also work to reduce our absolute emissions. We are analyzing our energy consumption to clarify how we can further reduce our consumption and replace fossil fuels with renewable energy.
