Talented intern innovates in ESV redesign project
As part of an ambitious growth strategy, Svanehøj has identified product & chemical tankers as one of the segments with the greatest growth potential in the coming years.
Therefore, the order from Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation (CSET) for cargo pumping systems for two 49,900 DWT product tankers is an important indication that Svanehøj is now seriously ready to take on the competition in the MR tanker segment.
“We have supplied cargo pumping systems for P&C tankers for many years. However, with a strategic optimisation of the supply chain and a stronger customer focus, we are now aiming to increase our market share. This is the first time Cosco has chosen Svanehøj pumps for an MR product tanker, and it is proof that we are competitive in this segment,” says Lars Bo Kirkegaard, Head of Sales, P&C at Svanehøj.
The order from CSET is the result of excellent local collaboration with Hua Hai Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd. and a dialogue-based sales process, where Svanehøj supported the shipyard in the design process to find an optimal cargo pump solution for the two MR product tankers. Furthermore, Svanehøj was able to meet the customers need for short delivery time.
“The contract was secured due to a focused customer mindset from the Svanehøj team. Svanehøj recognised the necessity of having the best local support, enabling us to deliver cargo pumping systems fit to meet Cosco’s current and future operational needs,” says Mr W.K. Luk, Hua Hai Equipment & Engineering Co., Ltd.
