Explaining the unique technical features of the Svanehoj HPP Triplex Unit in LNG Industry

 

In the April issue of the LNG Industry magazine, Svanehoj had the pleasure of contributing an article on the unique design and technical aspects of our new high-pressure piston pump solution for LNG – the Svanehoj HPP Triplex Unit.

The HPP Triplex Unit is a compact unit with belt-drive system and three combined cold ends, designed to meet the maritime industry's demands for leak-free fuel supply systems components with long service life.

With the HPP Triplex Unit, Svanehoj has introduced two patented innovations for the design of the cold end:

 

• A new low-pressure sealing system that reduces friction, ensuring longer service intervals.
  
  
• A new inlet valve design, ensuring higher efficiency and low-pressure drop.

 

Furthermore, Svanehoj engineers have optimized the design and material composition of the cylinder and added a copper-based alloy, thereby reducing the cooling down time of the pump by around 50%.
