DW Fuel  Pump (Marine)

Well-proven SVANEHØJ technology downsized in Deepwell Fuel pump

At SVANEHØJ we know the importance of proven reliability in the market. That is why we developed the DW fuel pump, taking our well-proven and renowned DW Cargo (Gas) pump and downsized it for fuel gas systems.

With the reliable DW fuel pump from SVANEHØJ, you get the well-proven technology and design from our DW Cargo (Gas) pumps, which are installed in more than 1100 gas cargo carriers around the world.

All the benefits of the larger gas pumps have been retained in the DW fuel pump, ensuring both stability, optimised performance, high reliability, and long service intervals.

DW Fuel Pump (Marine)

The DW fuel pump is a classic multistage centrifugal pump made of cryogenic stainless steel with a standard zone 1 marine motor.

Because the pump’s electric motor is located outside the fuel tank, it eliminates the excess heat and pressure which may otherwise result in a significant energy loss when motors are located inside the fuel tank. Thanks to the unique DW design, the energy and fuel consumption are continuously optimised.

Reliable and optimised efficiency

The DW fuel pump (Marine) from SVANEHØJ is a reliable pump developed in close collaboration with experienced designers of fuel gas systems to support environmentally-friendly LNG-powered engines. The pump, which is also usable with other fuel types such as ethane and LPG, is designed to provide a steady, reliable fuel gas supply with a fast response to changes in engine load, ensuring optimum efficiency.

A fuel pump is independent of weather conditions, sloshing, and thermal conditions – to mention just a few of the numerous benefits.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need advice on solutions relating to LNG fuel pumps, ethane fuel pumps or LPG fuel pumps.

Technical specifications

Deepwell, cryogenic multi-stage centrifugal pump. Designed for continuous variable frequency operation.

  • Capacity: 0.25 - 35 m3/h
  • Head: 20 - 400 mlc
  • NPSHR: 0.25 mlc
  • Temperature: -163°C - 50°C

The DW Fuel pump is a long shafted cryogenic deepwell, multistage centrifugal pump designed for continuous operation with variable speed drive.

The pump is available in two flow sizes with nominal flow at 11 and 24 m3/h, each size is available in two pressure versions: 8 and 18 Bar, designed to fit standard 4 and 2 stroke engines. The pumps have a minimum flow as shown in the above table, but can in shorter periods operate at flows as low as 0.25 m3/h.

DW Fuel pump can be installed in a caisson pipe with a retraction system, which enables the pumps to be extracted even with liquid gas in the tank. The pump is designed with a hermetically sealed MagDrive coupling, separating the gas in the tank system from the surroundings. All electrical components, including the motor are situated outside the tank, which means that excessive heat from the motor does not increase Boil Off Gas and pressure in the tank.

The Svanehøj control system is a standard panel that maintains the desired pressure at the gas valve unit inlet, following the engine load.

A SVANEHØJ solution means first-class lifecycle support from industry experts, committed to help you get the most out of your pump investment
